
AIMS:
The Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) course aims to provide participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively respond to helicopter emergencies over water, particularly ditching and underwater escape situations. The training enhances awareness of helicopter safety features, emergency equipment, underwater survival strategies, and psychological resilience to increase survivability in emergency scenarios.
OBJECTIVES:
- Understand the purpose and evolution of HUET in offshore and aviation safety.
- Identify key helicopter safety features and onboard emergency equipment.
- Use personal safety aids such as lifejackets and emergency breathing systems correctly.
- Recognize and respond to various helicopter emergency situations.
- Demonstrate correct procedures for underwater escape from a ditched helicopter.
- Apply survival techniques after ditching, including life raft entry and group survival.
- Develop psychological resilience and manage stress during emergencies.
