AIMS

Engine Room Resource Management (ERM) is critical to safe and efficient maritime operations. This course equips marine engineers and engineering officers with the knowledge and skills to manage and optimise the engine room's resources effectively. ERM promotes a culture of teamwork, communication, and decision-making within the engine room, leading to enhanced safety and operational performance.

The Engine Room Resource Management meets with Regulation III/1, Section A-III/1 and Table A-III/1 of the STCW´78 Convention, as amended and its STCW Code and IMO Model Course 2.07


OBJECTIVES 

The Engine Room Resource Management Course complements the competencies applicable to officers in charge of watchkeeping in a machine chamber, in accordance with Regulation III/1, Section A-III/1 and Table A-III/1 of the STCW´78 Convention, as amended and its STCW Code,


Course Content: 

1. The distribution, allocation, and classification of resources

2. Effective communication.

3. Determination and leadership

4. Achieving and maintaining awareness of the situation

5. Analyzing the team's experience
