
Aims:
This course is designed to meet the minimum training and instruction requirements in maritime security for all seafarers in accordance with:
- Regulation VI/6, Paragraphs 1 to 3,
- Section A-VI/6, Paragraph 4, and
- Table A-VI/6-1 of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended.

Objectives
The course aims to enhance maritime security by:
- Contributing to the enhancement of maritime security through increased individual awareness and collective preparedness.
- developing the ability to recognize security threats onboard ships, in port facilities, and while at sea.
- Fostering an understanding of the importance of vigilance and situational awareness, as well as the practical methods and procedures to maintain a security-conscious environment.
Key Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, seafarers will be able to:
- Identify security threats and risks in the maritime environment.
- Understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining shipboard security.
- Recognize potential security breaches and respond appropriately.
