Course Overview

Aims:

The course aims to provide maritime professionals with the knowledge and tools to manage and mitigate fatigue onboard ships effectively. It will enable participants to understand fatigue's physiological and operational causes, implement strategies to reduce its impact and apply best practices for managing fatigue in line with industry standards and regulations.

Course Objectives:

    1. Define and identify causes of fatigue.

    2. Implement effective fatigue management strategies.

    3. Promote crew awareness of fatigue risks.

    4. Integrate fatigue management into operational planning.

    5. Use tools to monitor and assess fatigue.

    6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

    7. Investigate and address fatigue-related incidents.

    8. This training provides insights into the causes and consequences of fatigue and its impact on:

        1. Seafarer health and well-being

        2. Operational safety and security

        3. Protection of the marine environment

        4. Seafarers serve as a resource to help stakeholders implement effective fatigue management strategies.
