Aims:

The course aims to equip maritime professionals with essential knowledge and practical skills to safely operate LNG-powered vessels, covering fuel handling, safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Objectives:

  • Understand LNG as Fuel: Learn LNG properties, hazards, and environmental benefits compared to traditional fuels.

  • Comprehend LNG Systems: Understand the design, storage, and operational requirements of LNG fuel systems.

  • Apply Operational Limits: Learn to calculate and apply loading limits and manage LNG tank capacities.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks in LNG bunkering and fuel management operations.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and apply the IGF Code and other relevant LNG safety regulations.

  • Implement Procedures: Develop SOPs for LNG bunkering, storage, and operational management.

  • Crew Training: Ensure crew readiness with proper training on LNG operations, hazards, and emergency procedures.

  • Maintenance Knowledge: Learn maintenance practices for LNG systems and related equipment.

  • Fuel Supply Management: Manage LNG supply contracts and operational challenges in charter agreements.

  • Dry-Docking and Surveying: Understand procedures for dry-docking and LNG vessel inspections.
