Aims:

The LCHS-OIL course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in handling liquid cargo operations safely and efficiently. It ensures compliance with international standards and promotes a thorough understanding of equipment, safety protocols, and pollution prevention measures.

The course is per IMO Model course 2.06 and also complies with requirements under STCW Code regulation Table A- II/2, Section A-V/1 -1-2, I/12, Section A-1/12 and, Code B-1/12 as amended in 2010. This course complies to as per SIRE 2.0 part 1.0-3.3.3.


Objectives:

1. Familiarize participants with cargo operational equipment, instrumentation, and controls used in liquid cargo handling.

2. Enhance awareness of pre-planning procedures, including checklists and time management for various cargo operations.

3. Develop an understanding of safe and pollution-free cargo handling principles and practices.

4. Equip participants with the skills to calculate cargo quantities, stability, draft, and hull stress during operations.

5. Provide practical experience in identifying and solving operational challenges.

6. Conduct behavioural competency assessments to align with SIRE 2.0 requirements.

7. Familiarize participants with the SIRE 2.0 framework, including its relevance to cargo operations.
